PGrad Diploma in Counselling Psychology (Keele University)
I'm a Humanistic Counsellor. I work primarily from a Person-Centred perspective, which means that I believe, as human beings, we all tend to move towards what we need to be, provided our environment is able to support us with what we need, including love and care.
I have experience working with people from a wide variety of backgrounds, struggling with all kinds of issues, from relationship problems to issues with food and self-harm.
In addition to general practice, I have developed a specialism in working with people who have difficulties with alcohol, in particular when combined with other issues such as trauma and dissociation.
I attend regular training workshops to keep my knowledge and skills up to date and to provide you with the best service I possibly can.
I am DBS checked and fully insured.
Training and Experience
As well as private practice I worked for several years at a local drug and alcohol charity where I worked with people who struggled with alcohol and/or drug use. I specialised in working with people who have a concurrent mental health problem, so-called "dual diagnosis".
